2024 Christmas Cards for Veterans

After a special school program, Katelyn came home and asked why we only thank veterans on veteran's day. She asked to make them cards to thank them for their service and to bring joy to their holiday season. With the help of friends and family, Katelyn is proud to share this project created 211 cards for veterans!

Hosting two events, one in Kaukauna and a second in Sturgeon Bay, Katelyn hosted "Cookies & Cards for Vets" and welcomed others to come make cards with her. Children and adults alike joined in to nibble on cookies and color, craft, and sign cards. NBC26 and WFRV Local 5 came to interview Katelyn.

Katelyn delivered cards and some treats to VFW Post 3088 in Sturgeon Bay bright and early on Friday the 13th. That evening, she sang Silent Night, Joy to the World and God Bless America for veterans at the American Legion in Appleton and handed out cards, cookies and candy canes. On Friday, December 20th, Katelyn met with Commander Johnson at the Sturgeon Bay American Legion Post #72 to deliver a third batch of cards and goodies. She received a salute and an invitation to serve as co-Miss American Legion for their post. Cards will be brought to the veterans home in King, Wisconsin personally by the post commander.

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WFRV) – Seven-year-old Katelyn Much from Sturgeon Bay is spreading love and gratitude this holiday season by creating handmade cards for veterans.

On Tuesday, Katelyn partnered with Patty and Pablo’s in Kaukauna to host a heartwarming event where attendees made cards for veterans while enjoying cookies. The cards will be delivered to the American Legion Post 38 in Appleton on Friday.
